| Oldham Athletic have accepted a £500,000 bid from the
Bluebirds for defender Fitz Hall.
The highly rated centre-half earned himself a place in the PFA Division Two team of the year last season, with his solid defensive displays playing a major part in Oldham's top 6 finish. Hall's performances have alerted the attention of several top Premiership clubs including Southampton and Everton, meaning City will have a tough job persuading the 22-year-old to join the Bluebirds. Oldham's financial crisis meant they had to accept the offer for Hall, and a deal could potentially save the club from extinction. Latics boss Iain Dowie will be sad to see Hall go should he leave Boundary Park. Guaranteed first-team football could be a deciding factor in the deal. Lennie Lawrence could offer Hall an almost guaranteed place in the City defence, whereas this might not be possible at some of the Premiership clubs linked with the defender. The club will begin talks with Hall over the next few days. |
