Following defeats against arch-rivals Bristol City and Swansea City in their last two games, the City reserve side bounced back with a 1-0 victory over Plymouth Argyle. Jason Bowen did no harm to his chances of returning to first-team affairs, scoring the only goal of the game.

| After disappointing defeats against arch-rivals Bristol
City and Swansea City in their last two games, the City reserve side bounced
back with a pleasing 1-0 away victory over Plymouth Argyle. Jason Bowen scored the only goal of the game, direct from a free-kick, midway through the second-half as the Bluebirds condemned the Devon-side to a third consecutive second-string loss. Ian Butterworth named a strong side for the game, with first-team players Martyn Margetson, Gary Croft, Layton Maxwell, Mark Bonner, Jason Bowen, Andy Campbell and Gavin Gordon all included in the squad. 545 were in attendance at Home Park, in a game that saw three City players booked, including Mark Bonner and goalscorer Jason Bowen.
