Chris Barker has agreed personal terms with the Bluebirds, and is expected to take his medical tomorrow. The fee is expected to be around £600,000 for the left back.

Chris Barker is set to become Cardiff's second summer signing, after he agreed personal terms today. The fee is yet to be confirmed, although reports are suggesting it will be around £600,000.

Barker established himself as a regular in the Barnsley side whilst still a teenager, but since their relegation last season, Barker is looking for a new challenge.

Pending a medical, Barker is expected to sign over the weekend, and will be another left footed player to join the Bluebirds, after Gareth Whalley signed last week.

After Tony Vidmar turned down a move to Ninian Park, Lawrence was quick to make an offer for Barker.

This signing doesn't look good news for City left backs, Andy Legg and Michael Simpkins. It is expected that Leggy will loose his first team place, and Simpkins may leave Ninian Park, whether he will be released or go on a free is not known.
