Cardiff struggle to overcome 10 man Ipswich Town.

A late goal from Jason Koumas secured all three points for the bluebirds against an Ipswich Town team which had played the majority of the game with ten men. It was very cold but the win puts us back in the top six which should warm the parts other teams can't reach!
Only 8,724 bothered to turn up and whilst Cardiff are now sixth in the table many fans are of the opinion it isn't good to watch, and talking to long standing fans in the pub after this game, the majority felt that Ipswich deserved a point from the game and that if they had played with ten men we wouldn't have gained all three points. It is this which might explain that despite being in our highest position for 30 years the fans are actually turning their backs on the club! The average crowd is dropping as we climb up the league table!
Last night the missing thousands watching from their armchairs or in the pub will probably not be rushing down to buy tickets for the next home match, I cannot put my finger on it but the football is not getting people's blood pulsing through their veins. Whatever the problem, it must be of real concern to the club....
Michael Ricketts made up for his woeful penalty miss to give Cardiff City the lead on the half-hour. The 13th-minute penalty was awarded after the visitors' Fabian Wilnis was sent off for for pulling back Cameron Jerome in the penalty bix at the Canton End of the ground.
The Bluebirds managed to hang onto their slender lead until 4 minutes when Jimmy Juan scored with an excellent free-kick, however in the 90th minute Jason Koumas slipped, stubbled and danced his way around the Ipswich defence in front of the Grange End to fire the Bluebirds back into a play-off position. The crowd went wild, but the talk on Sloper Road was of getting out of jail and to be fair unlucky Ipswich who will have been bitterly disappointed.
