A 16-man Cardiff City Reserve Squad travels to Mangotsfield today, for a pre-season friendly fixture. Gavin Gordon is named in the squad, and will be looking to impress this afternoon. Here's a look forward to today's fixture.
The Cardiff City FC Official web-site has announced a 16-man reserve squad that will travel to Mangotsfield this afternoon, to face the non-league outfit in a pre-season friendly. The squad is as follows:
Starting XI : Walton (gk), Collins, Simpkins, Jones, Evans, Giles, Dimond, Heall, Wallis, Gordon, Hughes. Subs : Huggins, Porter (gk), Fish, Thomas, Anthony
Gavin Gordon is back in action after a long injury. Gordon was named in the Scotland Squad for the pre-season tour, but the birth of his first son prevented him from making the trip.
Another player who was named to go to Scotland but didn't is Ceri Hughes, who also plays today.
Kristian Dimond and Chris Collins are both in today's starting line-up and will be looking to impress during their trial period with the Bluebirds.
Both David Hughes and Josh Low were not named in the squad.
The reserve team was victorious in their opening friendly game, beating Weston-Super-Mare 2-1, and will be looking to continue their good form with a win today.
This afternoon's fixture is a 3 o'clock kick-off.
