Play off Hopes dashed at Watford
Watford Away

Cardiff City failed to capitalise on Preston North End's defear at Reading, with a 2-1 defeat at Vicarage Road. The home side completely dominated the first half and should have been ou of sight at the interval, however they failed to find the net and the Welshmen went in all square.
The second half saw the deadlock broken and Watford took the spoils with a 2-1 win, despite Cardiff drawing level in between the home strikes. It was a game the home side should have won by half time but as Bluebirds fans can testify, David Jones has built a gritty and determined side who are quite prepared to soak up pressure and grind out results. Today the plan didn't work and with Wolves winning at Hull the play off positions are beginning to look a long way off.
Jeff Whitely equalised for Cardiff after Mackay had put the Hornets ahead, however Marlon King Gave the home side the victory they deserved but Jason Koumas struck the post late on which could have given the visitors a share of the spoils. David Jones will rue the defensive error which lead to the final goal, and the victory which awarded Watford another double this season...
