Blades secure promotion as Cardiff lose again...

Sheffield United beat Cardiff City 1-0 in a poor advert for Championship football on Good Friday afternoon. 11,006 watched the match but thousands will have switched off their TV's long before the end, although the travelling Blades fans packed in the away section seemed pleased enough!

Three consecutive defeats have contributed to the Bluebirds end of season play off push ending in a damp squib and the team once again never really got going. The Blades were worth their win but on this performance they will struggle like Sunderland in the top flight next year!

The final whistle came as a blessed relief, and Danny Webber's winner in front of the Canton Stand was less memorable than his howling miss from a similar spot earlier!
