Preece to Return?

It has been revealed that former Quaker David Precce could return to the North-East. After the recent departure of sub-goalkeeper Michael Price, Preece could be just what David Hodgson is looking for.

Goalkeeper David Preece may be coming back to Darlington, recent reports have revealed.

Having made over 100 seperate appearences for the Quakers during the period of 1997-1999, -in which time he worked with current manager, David Hodgson- Preece knows what life is like at Darlington.

Whilst speaking to Darlington's official site, Hodgson commented:

"I'd have Preecy back tomorrow, I think he is an excellent character, his training is fantastic and he is more than capable of pushing Sam (Russell) for a jersey."

Hodgson has not built his hopes up yet, however, as he understands that the 'keeper will recieve other offers from different clubs (one being his current club, Aberdeen).

No further news has developed on hotshot, Sam Russell. His Darlington future continues to hang in the balance.
