DARLINGTON Vs Leeds United (Pre Season Friendly) Williamson Motors Stadium, Wed 20 Jul, K.O 7.30 PM.

The Quakers face their first real test of the pre-season as they entertain Leeds United tomorrow evening. Having played the likes of Blyth Spartans, Seaham Red Star and Bishop Auckland, Darlo are ready to give their potential first team a run out against strong opposition.

Leeds will be making the short trip straight up the A1 tomorrow evening, with former Quaker star, Robbie Blake, possbly in tow. Blake has recently signed a contract with the West Yorkshire club and will be welcomed back with open arms should he be involved tomorrow evening. Sean Gregan could also make an appearence.

Trialists Anthony Peacock and Nathan Bailey will no doubt play a part in the fixture and will be looking to re-pay the faith shown in them by Darlo manager David Hodgson (who recently showed the door to a long list of other trialists, including the impressive Andy Ferrell).

Simon Johnson is another player who will come up against his old club. The young striker signed for Darlington on a free from Leeds earlier in the Summer and Quakers fans are looking forward to seeing him in more detail.

Fellow new boy, Bertrand Bossu, is also likely to appear tomorrow. The 6ft 7" French ex- Gillingham Goalkeeper was signed as back-up for Sam Russell earlier last week and as the latter has a slight injury, Bossu will get his first opporunity to stru his stuff at the Williamson Motors Stadium.

A decent crowd is expected as the first game of the pre-season comes to DFC, hopefully Darlington fans will get a good idea of how the team stands and will see a good game as the build up to the new season kicks off.
