Whatever will be will be

So it’s here at last the moment of truth, the crux of the season, the game that we have all been waiting for since September.

One of the major drawbacks of being in the IPA Championship is getting through the league part of the season to get to the play offs and the final. It did seem to drag a bit towards the end, especially when we knew we had qualified as one of the top two some weeks before the last league game.

After the last second try at Ashton Gate many Warriors fans now dare to believe that Premiership rugby is on for next season. But that slim one point lead also gives Bristol fans hope that they can repeat the result of the last game of the league.

What do I want next season? I suppose premiership rugby, as I hate losing. So a win tomorrow will be the only result I would be happy with. But would I be devastated if we end up staying another year in The Championship? No I don’t think I would. It’s been fun, lots of great grounds and fans met all around the country and the trip to Jersey was fab, bar the result.. Did I mention I hate losing?

The other part of the end of the season I hate is saying good bye to players. So far there have only been 3 or 4 confirmed leavers and I do suspect there will be a few more.

Really like the mix of players signed for next year, particularly Dowson, Heathcote and Heem.

Whatever the result I will be yelling my lungs out all game and will be proud of the boys no matter what the outcome.

So if I don’t see you, enjoy the game and the off season and hopefully we will get what we want for next season.

Totally agree with your sentiment, I can see no further just now than winning tomorrow and I will take my usual time to come around if we lose. However the club has come further in the last year than the previous 5 or 6 years combined. I have thoroughly enjoyed this season, the grounds and supporters from Jersey to Doncaster have been excellent offering friendly banter mixed with good beer. Another season of building would not be too hard to put up with. I believe we are at the start of much better and successful club, who will, in the short to medium future, be competing for the top 6 in the premiership. Very happy to be in such a position; proud to be a Warrior. COYW!!

Both post summarise my feelings precisely. Not the end of the world if not promoted, but competitive instinct in me doesn't want it any other way and nerves are already going!

By this time tomorrow it will all be over. I expect the day to drag tomorrow creeping towards kick off. Suspect it will be a gripping and nerve shredding experience but we will all get up Thursday morning with rugby to look forward to next season.

Best of luck from a Bath fan. I for one will have my fingers crossed, and will be watching with my kids in front of the TV cheering you guys on tonight. I only hope that all my luck doesn't go on you guys tonight leaving me nothing left over for Saturday!!
Best of luck, would love to see you guys back in the Premiership again next season!
