Another great evening - thanks to those who organised it and to the players who seemed to enjoy the interaction and banter.
Was surprised to hear from one chap that at other clubs where he has played none of them have had this sort of idea - he loved it and thought it great to chat to supporters rather than just wave from the pitch.
The evening also raised over £300 for Guide Dogs - Tom Biggs charity for which they are trying to raise £5000. They are now 20% of the way there thanks to all who bought raffle tickets last night.
Great night! Many thanks to the players for their time. Moment of comedy genius when someone on my table pulled out from his bag a copy of 'Joking Apart' - Donncha O'Callaghan's autobiography - for the great man to sign. Donncha said, "Jesus! There's only ever been two copies of that book sold!"... at which point the man produced a second copy of the book from his bag! Brilliant!
Has anyone ever looked less like a rugby professional when in his 'civvies' than did Dewald Potgieter last night? It took a moment or two to register who it was that had just sat down and started talking to us. Clark Kent and Superman came to mind!
