Chester City 1 – 0 Liverpool

Salif Diao’s Liverpool debut ended miserably as former kop defender Mark Wright’s Chester City ran out 1-0 winners at the Deva Stadium.

Senegal star Diao played 60 minutes against the non leaguers, and was joined in the line-up by Bruno Cheyrou, Patrik Berger and Vladimir Smicer.

Ex-Anfield ace Steve Harkness lined up for Chester, with Chris Blackburn firing an 84th minute winner.
