Match Report - Scarborough

City extended their unbeaten run to four games but are still yet to score at home. After the frustrating 0-0 draw with Kettering Town on the opening day of the season, Chester wanted to redeem themselves and their home form by overturning their Yorkshire opponents.

Before kick off, Mark Wright and his team knew a win could take them to the top of the Nationwide Conference. It wasn’t to be as Chester created few chances throughout the game and rarely troubled Woods in the Scarborough goal.

City’s attackive players found it extremely difficult to break down the Scarborough defence and the first real attemp came in the 88th minute with a Jimmy Kelly volley.

Micky Brown who came into the team to add some flair looked lively and on many occasions ran at Scarborough defence and caused problems for the seadogs

After the final whistle Chester were lucky to take a point from the fixture as Scarborough missed an almost open goal and had a blatant penalty appeal turned down.

Next up a trip down to bottom of the table Forest Green Rovers.
