City defender Phil Bolland is ruled out of the start of the new Conference season through injury. Bolland picked up a foot injury during the pre season friendly away at Bangor City last month.
The extent of the injury wasn't clear until yesterday when he was diagnosed with a hairline fracture in his foot. The big centre back will be out for around 4 weeks
City manager Mark Wright explained ""It's a blow. Phil is a quality player and his presence will be missed, but these things happen in football."
"We've got two friendly matches left before the start of our League campaign, so now we will have to try a couple of options in the remaining games. It gives somebody the opportunity to prove to me that they are worthy of a place in the starting line-up."
With the already strong defence at Chester and the inclusion of Steve Harkness, Wayne Hatswell and Scott Guyett there will be no lack of quality defenders to cover Bolland.
