Lindsay Davenport claimed her first tournament title in 15 months after coming back from injury and since winning the Linz Open in October 2001.

Davenport winning the Pan Pacific Open for the third time lost the opening set to her compatriot Monica Seles, 7-6 (8-6).

Last time these met Davenport held match points against Seles but went on to lose. But today Lindsay was to win in easily fashion claiming the next two sets 6-1, 6-2.

Seles losing again in the final last year losing to Martina Hingis also in 3 sets.

Davenport who returned to the tour in September now believes she can be top 5 by Wimbledon. "If I continue this level of play, I can win a few more tournaments and I will be back in the top five by Wimbledon".
