Pierce returns back to form in India

Mary Pierce won her second round match against Australian big server Evie Dominikovic at the Indian Open producing a straight sets victory.

Pierce once ranked at a high of 3 in the world hasn't found the form that she once has and perhaps lacks in the motivation that she once had with her now ranked outside top 50.

The No 4 seed was never in trouble with a 6-1, 6-3 scoreline and now meets Italy's Flavia Pennetta.

Akiko Morigami who beat top seed Clarisa Fernandez in the first round beat Andreea Vanc for a Quarter-Final place.

There were also wins for No 2 seed Tamarine Tanasugarn, Croatia's Silvija Talaja and Iroda Tulyaganova.
