Rita Grande won the battle of the Italians by disposing Antonella Serra-Zanetti in a three set battle to win the Grand Prix De S.A.R. La Princesse
Grande powered her way through the first set winning it 6-2, using all her skills to overpower Zanetti who took time adjusting to the game anstruggling on her serve at times of Grande.
The second set was even up to 3-3 were Serra-Zanetti broke to lead 4-3 which looked to be the decisive break in the set. Grande had her chances to break back immediately and took them after the second attempt to level it back at 4-4. Then straight after Serra-Zanetti had chances to break back again to serve out for the second set taking it into a decider and took them on the first oppourtunity and also the second set 6-4.
But Grande upped her game in the final set demolishing the other Italian sprinting to a 4-0 lead and never looking back after losing the second set claiming her third title and first in over 2 years.
