Former Family Cirlce Cup Champion and World No 6 Jennifer Capriati has withdrawn from this week's Family Cirlce Cup due to a throat infection
Capriati fell ill after losing to Serena Williams last weekend at the NasDaq 100-Open at the semi-final stage.
"I'm so disappointed" Capriati said. "I won the tournament the first year it moved to Charleston, so it really has special memories for me".
Earlier in the week Monica Seles withdrawn after not fully recovering from her stress-fractured foot which seems to be bothering the former finalist since early February.
The field still contains Serena Williams, Lindsay Davenport, Justine Hennin-Hardenne, Daniela Hantuchova
