S.Williams meets Henin in Family Circle Cup final

Serena Williams defeated compatriot Lindsay Davenport to reach the Family Circle Cup final 6-1 7-5 The number one of the world Williams will be up against Belgian Justine Henin-Hardenne who beats wild card player Ashley Harkleroad 6-2 6-1.

Serena Williams will be playing her fifth match against the fourth seed Justine Henin-Hardenne. The Belgian took the victory once in her career and is looking for another upset in beating Serena Williams.

Williams is on a hot streak and won her last 21 matches this year. Davenport didn’t stand a chance and was on her way for one of her biggest defeats when she lost eight out of the first nine games.

Davenport somehow found her form in the second set and almost won the second set when Serena Williams took the match ending it with three flawless bullet aces.

17 year-old Ashley Harkleroad reached the semi-final on a wild card after setting aside three seeded players. Justine Henin-Hardenne was just one player too many and Harkleroad lost 6-2 6-1.

Henin-Hardenne’s service was the key to her success, the American did have no answer to the Belgian powerserve
