Lindsay Davenport pulls out of the Bank of the West Classic which starts next week. She wont play the hard-court event due to a left foot injury.

Lindsay Davenport also had toe trouble when she played and quit in the fourth round of the French Open.

She was recovered for Wimbledon but lost to Serena Williams in the quarterfinals.

Davenport also wont play for the USA Fed Cup team which is held 18 to 20 july. This was because she was with her mother who was having an operation. Joining the team later was probably not an option for Billy Jean King the team captain.

Davenport was hoping to be in the team but she couldnt make it in time for practise. She was told by King that if she couldnt come in time she had better stay away.
