Clijsters strolls into quarters

Kim Clijsters cruised into yet another quarter-final in the Australian Open along with Patty Schnyder, Anastasia Myskina and Lisa Raymond

Silivia Farina Elia struggled to deal with the power from the Belgian but neither played to their maximum with Clijsters easing through 6-3, 6-3.

Clijsters, who faces Anastasia Myskina next, is still to drop a set and has conceded just 14 games so far.
Myskina overcame former semi-finalist Chanda Rubin in a three set fight.

The Russian 6th seed fell behind 4-0 struggling to find her range and play her usual game.

But she managed to cling it back and force a tie-break which she lost 7-3.

The second and third set turned around for Myskina making some big winners and brushing aside the challenge of the American, claiming a 6-2, 6-2 win.

Afterwards the 6th seed rubbished her chances of winning the tournament by claiming she will have to play 300% better than Kim Cisters if she is too advance.

However, Myskina began to find her range with some big winners and although she lost the first set on a tiebreak, she came back to win the second 6-2.

An early break in the deciding set put the Russian completely in charge and she eased away
to take it 6-2.

Myskina said she would have to play at "300%" if she wants to beat world number two Clijsters.
"Against Kim, you have to do your best. Not 100%, I have to give 300%. If you do that, you can beat her," she said.

Lisa Raymond’s impressive run continued dismissing the youngster Tatiana Golovin in straight sets reaching the quarter-finals for the first time in her career.

The French star put up little resistance in the fourth round with the American getting the best out of the match, 6-2, 6-0.

She will face Patty Schnyder in the quarter-finals, claiming a 6-2, 6-4 win over France's 29th seed Nathalie Dechy.

Schnyder will bid to be the first Swiss player to win this tournament since Martina Hingis in 1999.
