Clijsters and Mauresmo set up semi-final clash

Kim Clijsters brilliant run continued on Wednesday night has she beat Elena Dementieva to set up a semi-final clash with Amelie Mauresmo after she crushed Ana Ivanovic

The comeback queen who claimed last weeks Pacific Life Open crown has improved throughout the week and it showed even better against her Russian opponent. The pair met at last weeks Indian Wells tournament but Dementieva was slightly injured and restricted her movement, but this time Kim was just far too good. In the end the Belgian's freshness and positivity shone through on the court and romped to a 6-2, 6-1 victory.

She is now on a 12 match winning streak and claimed afterwards, "I feel like I'm hitting as good as I can at the moment. I'm doing things off-site for my tennis to make sure that I just have to focus on those things. Making me comfortable on the court.".

Amelie Mauresmo will now take on the Belgian and has a chance of reclaiming the world number one ranking spot from Lindsay Davenport but will need to win the title.

The Frenchwoman stormed through the first set 6-1 thanks to strong serving from the number one seed. Ivanovic showed few signs she could pose a threat in the match breaking her opponents serve but the injury she sustained was just to restrictive and painful for her to stamp any authority in the match losing the second set 6-4.
