McLaren Score Double Podium

Although the Britain only finished 3^rd it was his first ever formula one race, and team boss Ron Dennis was tremendously happy with Lewis’s first race.

The young Britain started 4^th on the grid and by the first corner he moved up to 3^rd after an admirable pass around the outside of fast starting Robert Kubica and when he entered the first corner he passed his vastly more experienced Spanish team mate as well slotting centimetres away from the back of Nick Heidfeld BMW.

The McLaren team were able to put in fast enough lap times on their hard tyre rubber to pass Nick Heidfeld who started on the faster soft rubber.

From their McLaren went strength to strength never being more than 20 seconds behind Ferrari at any stage (except pit stops). Up until the final pit stop Lewis Hamilton led both McLaren drivers, leading the race on for about a good number of laps.

Lewis’s debut has been phenomenal, let’s hope he can continue it at Malaysia which is on the 6^th-8^th of April. There will be another test before Malaysia, and you can bet that McLaren will be bringing new parts out to fight Ferrari for the win in Kuala Lumpur.

After a disappointing season last year, this year looks to be like a small revolution for McLaren, who could win the title easily this year.
