Former McLaren Mercedes world champion Mika Hakkinen believes that his old team can bounce back to the very front of the grid, and win both world championships.
The original flying fin has given his sympathy to fellow countryman Kimi Räikkönen who quit the McLaren team last season, to join the Ferrari squad.
“The way that McLaren develops a car is very strong," Hakkinen told the men's magazine FHM.
Kimi went away to Ferrari as a defensive movement, but I believe that the speed of McLaren's development will be very fast this year."
Hakkinen said: "Ron is a very loyal person. When he has committed to you, you know he will find a way to take you to victories. It can take some time, but it will happen."
