World champion Fernando Alonso appeared to be unhappy with his car but this is hopefully isn’t the case, due to the changing weather conditions the team could have used this opportunity to simulate race conditions to establish which of the two tyre compounds is the best to use in the fifty eight lap race.

British rookie driver Lewis Hamilton managed to secure third place in the second practice session, with his team make Fernando Alonso down in seventh, did he have a problem? The reports suggest not, which is good news.

But the main story of the session was Ferrari, they blitzed the competition by over half a second, Felipe Massa was the man on top, beating team mate Kimi Räikkönen by 0.3 seconds.

Renault managed to show the world that they may have some pace in their new title challenger the R27, Fisichella beating BMW driver Nick Heidfeld by under half a tenth of a second.

Williams showed some true pace as well, Alexander Wurz showed that despite previous seasons Williams does know how to build good, fast formula one cars, Alex managed to finish the session 6th, 0.6 seconds behind Felipe.

Complete times will be shown below.
