Vodafone McLaren Mercedes test and reserve driver Pedro De La Rosa has stated that he intends to stay with the Woking based team during the 2008 and 2009 world championships, even though he played an important role in this years spying scandle between McLaren and Ferrari.

De La Rosa's actions condemed McLaren to a penalty after he requested seveal peices of Ferrari information, which were forbidden to reach other teams, because of this, there has been some speculation on whether he will remain with McLaren after his actions.

"I have two more years on my contract and I am very happy with the team." Said the Spaniard

"It had its logic because I have worked on the development of McLaren cars and it would have been good for them to have a driver who knows the car to perfection." De La Rosa told reporters after he was asked about a race seat with Prodrive.

"What is clear to me is that in 2008 and 2009 I will be at McLaren. Here I am happy and respected. My relationship with the team is excellent, as always."

In other news, his fellow countryman, Fernando Alonso's future with the team looks in doubt. According to Ron Dennis, Fernando's future will be decided in two weeks time.
