McLaren Adopt Diffuser

Both McLaren and Renault have bolted on to their cars the new legal diffuser. The effect can be called immense by some judging by practice times and qualifying times. Red Bull on the other hand seam like they don't need this piece of carbon to go any faster.

The new design is a long way from being a copy of the double decker but it will be a major improvement.

In FP1 the cars came in 1st and 4th, but when FP2 came the best McLaren in 9th was a second off the pace.

The team is also sporting a new six plane wing which will aid with front grip.

They should, and all the other teams as well if they think it would give them an extra tenth/second then they really should.

as long as it doesn't conflict or makes a huge rework/redesign with their current designs.

but with the diffuser issue this season, i seemed to enjoy the race and standings as well for now, it's good to see some other cars topping the timesheets and dominating races other than Mclaren and Ferrari, and it's exciting to see as well the top teams struggling to keep up with the slower teams in the previous seasons. grinning smiley
