New Year, New Start: Welcome to McLaren Addicts

By Karl King
January 1 2010

Happy New Year! To coincide with the start of this new year, there is a new start for this website: the McLaren Fans website is now McLaren Addicts. This is a major milestone for this site as it has run under its previous guise since 2002.

The site has been through good times and bad, but more recently has been neglected after the previous administration threw in the towel. The fresh new look marks a new start for the site where it will be regularly updated with all the McLaren news and views that it should be. You can now access this site at addicts.f1network.net, mclarenfans.f1network.net will cease to work in your browser.

The rebrand comes at a particularly significant moment. Whilst this website looks for a new start, the McLaren team will also be looking to put a disappointing 2009 behind them. Whilst they came on strong towards the end, the team put in a dismal performance in the first part of the season. We also can’t forget the lie-gate saga that plagued the team after the Australian GP. The signing of 2009 World Champion Jenson Button to partner his predecessor in that role, Lewis Hamilton, shows the team are serious about regaining their form heading into the new season and seeking a new start.

We do hope you’ll stick around and help us take McLaren Addicts from strength to strength. If you’re new to the site, do join our community and take part in discussion and debate on our message board.

McLaren Addicts will be there every step of the way in McLaren’s 2010 season, discussing the highs and the lows. We do hope you’ll join us.

Our journey begins...

Karl & Bill

Thanks SplishSplash and welcome to the site! If you want to register you can do so here: [www.f1network.net] - it basically means you can use an avatar/signature, ensure nobody else can use your nickname etc...

It would appear JB is getting on on the McLaren fun as well:

He of course officially became a McLaren driver yesterday - there's a New Year message on the team's website too: [www.mclaren.com]

Happy New Year All!

Like the new look of the site.
Jenson looks skinny in his first official photo for McLaren, he's been working hard! Definitely lost weight....
