There's been a lot of speculation as to how they would cover this new form of qualifying, and how it would work out.It seems to work well so far...
Well, this fan must admit that he enjoyed the new qualifying structure. We got to see every driver do his lap without anything or anyone getting in the way. I liked it. That said, let’s get down to business:
Who’s Hot and Who’s Not?
Rubens was on fire…definitely hot.
Kimi was on fire…hot
JV was a 14 alarm Zeppelin…SCORTCHING hot
Michael looked like he was on cruise control…warm
Button looked very good…hot
David looked like David…warm
Alonso took it to Trulli…hot
Panis looked good…medium hot
Trulli looked like Trulli…warm
Montoya was pushing hard…hot
Da Matta was an INFERNO…VERY HOT
Heidfeld looked good…warm
Frentzen looked like Frentzen…warm
Fisi was fighting a real dog of a car…Hot
Webber didn’t impress me…I was expecting more…warm
Ralphy looked lost…cold
Firman fought that Jordan but good…hot
Verstappen made a Minardi look good for the first time in recent memory…hot
Pizzonia was rolling till the last sector…hot

There’s your who’s hot who’s not. We’ll see what happens today for the 2nd round of qualifying. The final Who’s hot who’s not will be posted before the race.
