What a Finish to the season!

Either Kimi Raikkonen would become the youngest champion in history...or Michael Schumacher would become the first 6 times world Champion.

It was Michael.

The race itself was wild...at the VERY least. The odds of Kimi winning, and Mike not scoring a point, were thought too astrinomical to even consider. But not long into the race, it started to look like it just might happen.

Micheal got into the rear of Takuma Sato's BAR, losing his nose and sending him back to 16th possition, after his already hard work of getting out from under a 14th possition start. As that happened, Kimi lay in 5th. Then Juan Pablo Montoya dropped out. Then Alonso. One by one they fell...eventually leaving Kimi in 2nd.

Rubens Barrichello however, did not fail. He took his Ferrari home to the victory from pole possition to clinch the Constructors and Drivers world titles for Ferrari. Michael did manage to get the last points paying possition it 8th.

For a season that at the outset was thought to be a year in which we simply hoped to close the gap, we were just that half inch away from winning the WDC. A fantastic result for McLaren and Kimi Raikkonen.

Every McLaren fan should be extremly pround of the team for their accomplishments this season. It's been an awesome ride...and to finish off the season that close shows a lot of promise for next year.

On behalf of McLaren fans everywhere, this site would like to congratulate Ferrari on their Constructors title and Michael Schumacher on his unbelievalbe 6th world title. Good job, and great show this season from them.
