DC saves points from dissaster.

As the race began, Rubens rocketed away from the rest of the field who were on dry tires. Meanwhile, David seemed to dissappear from the earth.

After a few laps the track started to dry out though, and the rest of the field began to catch Rubens at record pace. Rubens would pit early, and go on to pit one more time than his challengers to win the race in unbelievable fashion. DC however, ran the race of the day for McLaren. After Kimi had problems and retired early, it looked as though Williams BMW were going to once again stretch their points lead over McLaren in a big way.

David saved the day with an unheard of one stop strategy and a solid drive to beat out Pizzonia and keep the damage to a minimum. McLaren being only 8 points down to Williams now only have a few races left to catch them for 4th in the constructors race. Although the additional money is one consideration, the other would be do we really want to stay in 5th for the added advantage of running a 3rd car next season?

It remains to be seen, but McLaren do not look as though they're interested in the 3rd car nearly as much as they are getting race wins.
