Fastest Laps of the Turkish GP

The 2005 Turkish Grand Prix was very eventful and a nail-bitter for all. McLaren had high hopes with both drivers running very heavy in good positions. Renault and Alonso had high hopes to win to try and cement WCC and WDC victory as early as possible.

Williams had qualified well and needed to show improvement on the FW27. Ferrari looked on good form at Hungary and was hoping for good form at Turkey after spending one and a half weeks testing during the 3week testing ban. BARs Jensen Button wanted to improve on his 5th placing at Hungary, but his spin during qualifying would make life harder. Here are the times from the 2005 Grand Prix of Turkey:

What is promising about this table is that BAR-Honda have very good pace.
This is good for McLaren because for McLaren & Raikkonen to win the WCC and WDC titles they need Renault to finish lower in the points.
Once again McLaren set the fastest lap times showing that the MP4-20 is the fastest car on the grid.
Monza is up in two-weeks and McLaren are in a good position for another victory, hopefully BAR can play a bigger role in the next GP to Renaults detriment.
