It was hard to miss the McLaren-Mercedes MP4-21 as it took to the track for the first time while sporting it's new chrome livery. The team tested all day in Valencia.

Spain's Pedro de la Rosa testing all day while Juan Pablo Montoya joined him in the afternoon. The programme included work on set-up, the Mercedes V8, and the Michelin tyres. They managed to set the third and fourth fastest times respectively, behind the flying Williams of Mark Webber and the Red Bull of Christian Klien.

The only red flag of the day was caused by a Midland driver, Italian Giorgio Mordini, after taking an off into the tyres.

Wednesday will see de la Rosa make way for Kimi Raikkonen to test alongside Juan Pablo.
