The final practice session before this afternoons all or nothing knockout qualifying saw all 22 drivers take to the track, with Fernando Alonso posting the fastest time, only a few thousandths ahead of his teammate. Behind the two Renault’s came the two BMW-Sauber’s after another impressive session.

Saturday – Third Session

Unlike yesterday there were no incidents or major accidents, which will give all the teams plenty of time to make any last minute changes before qualifying. With both BMW-Sauber’s looking impressively quick there looks to be a real danger that some of the regulars will find themselves not making it into the top ten on the grid tomorrow.

Honda and Williams finished well over a second behind Renault, with Toyota right down the back of the time sheets although its possible they were running old tyres. Ferrari looked a bit more promising than yesterday with Michael Schumacher finishing sixth, behind the McLaren of Kimi Raikkonen. Once again Toro Rosso continued to impress, this time it was Scott Speed who finished the session in tenth place, ahead of the two Red Bull Ferrari's.
