HUDDERSFIELD TOWN V SHEFFIELD UNITED

On Tuesday 30th July Huddersfield entertain Sheffield United in a friendly at the MacAlpine.  This will be their toughest friendly yet against the 1st Division side who came so-close to the play-offs last season.

The last time the two sides met was in the season of 2000/01 when Town were in the first division.  Goals from Smith and Facey gave us a 2-1 victory over their single goal which was scored by Carl Asaba on 35.

Manager Neil Warnock and the team will be favourites for the match and will be expecting to take home the three points so to speak.  Town fans will be hoping that they can put the pre-season defeats against Lancaster and Lincoln, 3-1 and 1-0 respectively, behind them on Tuesday.  The crowd is expected to be the biggest yet and future friendlies include matches against Darlington and Athletico Bilbao, the Spanish top divisioners.
