Simpkins Signs for 3 months!

Robins fans received their 1st Christmas present when they heard the news that Micheal Simpkins - a 24 year old defender from Cardiff City - had signed on loan for 3 months.

He is 6ft tall and can play anywhere along the back line, his versatility is one fo the main reasons why Allner decided to sign him.

He had been watched on numerous occasions playing in the Cardiff reserve team and with the likes of Steve Jones, Richard Walker, Chris Banks and Antony Griffin all struggling with injuries an accomplished defender was needed on loan.

His previous clubs include Sheffield Wednesday, Chesterfield and Cardiff.

Whilst looking at some Cardiff message boards I noticed a mixed response from the fans on the departure of Simpkins.

One fan said "An alright player, who isn't currently match fit and has lost a lot of confidence - good luck hopefully he can supply the goods for you and keep you in Nationwide Div Two".

Whereas others were of the opinion "You're welcome to him, he's total crap" and "Simpkins is totaly useless"!

He has 3 months to impress and hopefully earn himself a permanent contract. I imagine a small fee would be required but not much as Cardiff are hardly poor!
