Ole Ole Ole Ole, Ole Ole Ole Ole Grant Mc Can Can Can! The long wait to sign Grant McCann as ended as the Northern Irish International has signed for 2 and a half years!

At 5pm on the 28th January 2003 Grant McCann put pen to paper on a 2 and a half year contract to join the Robins. A fee of £50k has been agreed with West Ham which doubles the record transfer fee which was previously held by Antony Griffin and Mark Yates.

Grant has spent to previous loan spells with the Robins. the first being the Robins 2nd in the league which he spent nearly the whole season with Town. The second spell being recently this season when he played 9 games before being recalled by West Ham manager Glenn Roeder.

McCann will give Cheltenham much needed width down the left hand side which has been lacking since he went back to West Ham. Undoubtedly set pieces will improve as he has a supremely gifted left foot! Don't be surprised to see Alsop score more with better crosses into the box.

Paul Baker reports there is still a small transfer ktty available to Bobby Gould but any new additions now will probably be free transfers or loan signings.

Any Town fans who that were questioning the Robins desire to stay in Division 2 will hopefully now have had their minds changed by todays news.

McCann will make his 3rd debut (well thats what it is!) in the away fixture on Saturday to Wigan Athletic.
