Bobby Gould has made his 2nd signing since becoming manager of Cheltenham with the addition of young forward Marvin Brown on a one month loan from Bristol City.
Brown has had very few first team opportunities at the other Robins and had a loan spell with Division 3 outfit Torquay United earlier in the season.
He has been a regular in the reserve team this season and has grabbed 13 goals. His main asset in his game is his pace, most likely he will be a player unleashed in the final 20 to 25 minutes in a game to run against tiring defenders.
He has joined initially for a month and will be available for selection for the games versus Wigan (a), Tranmere (h), Stockport (h), Huddersfield (a), Barnsley (h), and Colchester at home.
Many fans have said that a proven experienced Division 2 striker was needed if we want to survive, to be honest Marvin Brown doesn’t offer us any of those qualities but will offer more pace and an extra option to manager Bobby Gould.
Brown will use the month’s loan to show Bristol City what he can do or to possibly earn a permanent transfer to Cheltenham, if he makes an impact there is certainly money left in the budget to make a move, we’ll wait and see what he does in his month with us.
