Kayode Odejayi Whaddon Road bound.

His name is a bit of a mouthful but Robins fans better get used to saying it as Kayode Odejayi is set to sign from Forest Green Rovers.

The 6 ft 2" 21 year old striker who began his footballing days with Bristol City scored 16 goals in Forest Green's campaign in the Nationwide Conference.

In his time at Bristol City he made only 6 substitute appearances and initially joined Forest Green on loan where he scored 2 goals in 9 appearances. This was enough to impress the coaching staff at The Lawn and he signed a one year deal.

This has now run out however but as he is under the age of 24 Cheltenham must pay a fee for the young Nigerian born striker. Bobby Gould must see something in the strong, pacy forward to pay a fee for a player when there are so many established players available on a free.

An F.A tribunal will agree the fee that Cheltenham have to pay to Forest Green later today. This signals the end to Julian Alsop's Cheltenham career who like Tony Naylor was given the option to come back to the Robins if he couldn't find himself a deal elsewhere. Press reports suggest Northampton lead the chase for his signiature.
