Swans Can Get To Last Eight - Flynn

Brian Flynn - who has successfully guided the Swans into the 5th round of the F.A. Cup after beating Preston at the Vetch on Saturday - believes that his players are capable of reaching the quarter finals of the competition by overcoming Tranmere in round five.

Goals from Andy Robinson and Lee Trundle were enough to clinch the match as Swansea came from behind to book their place in the last 16 of the cup.

During his time at Wrexham, Flynn knocked the likes of Arsenal, Middlesbrough, West Ham and Ipswich out of the F.A. Cup but has had to contend with Rushden, Stevenage, Macclesfield and Preston so far in this year's competition.

Hopes were high amongst the Swans fans and players alike that a Premiership giant would finally be drawn away at the Vetch Field.

However, it was not to be with Flynn's men facing their first away F.A. Cup tie of the season at Second Division, Tranmere.

Unlike the Swans, Tranmere have tasted victory over Premier League opposition already in this season's cup. They beat Bolton Wanderers after a replay at the Reebok Stadium.

Despite being disappointed at not drawing a Premier League club for the third round running, Brian Flynn was able to see the positives of the draw.

"It's the first time we've been drawn away from home, but we are already looking forward to it," Flynn said.

" If we'd got Manchester United away, we'd be talking about what we would do with the money, but with this draw we really can think about getting to the last eight."

Swansea fans have been given just 2,400 tickets for the fifth round tie at Prenton Park. That is 100 less than the number of season ticket holders at the Vetch Field.

"Our allocation is 15% of the capacity of the ground. It's non-negotiable, Tranmere say, on police advice. There will be one ticket per season ticket holder," said Swans Director David Morgan.

Prenton Park is an all-seater stadium with a capacity of 16,789.
