Swans In Talks With Connor

Swansea City Director of Football Brian Flynn has reviled that the club are in talks with Rochdale striker Paul Connor. The Swans had hoped to sign the 25 year old before last nights 1-0 win at Cambridge but they are now hopeful a deal can go through before Friday's home game with Doncaster.

Our Third Division rivals, Yeovil Town had shown an interest in the former Middlesbrough and Stoke City front-man in late January.

At that time The Glovers made and official approach that was turned down by Dale boss Steve Parkin.

However Connor is now in talks with Swansea City according to Director of Football Brian Flynn who told Skysports.com "I can confirm that talks are ongoing."

Connor has scored 29 goals in 93 league appearances at Rochdale since joining them in March 2001. Should he decide to move to The Vetch he would almost certainly go straight into the side to replace the injured Lee Trundle with the Swans lacking on the goalscoring front at the moment.

Another target for Brian Flynn is Darlington striker Barry Conlon. The Swans had an initial bid rejected for the forward on Monday night but have made a new offer to the administrators at Darlo.

A menace in the air 6 foot 3 inch powerhouse, Conlon has made 252 career appearances, scoring 66 goals playing for QPR, Manchester City, Plymouth, Southend, York, Colchester and now Darlington. He is also 25 years old.
