Hoggard Waiting On Knee Scan

The Yorkshireman faces a scan on possible cartilage trouble in his right knee which restricted him to just three balls.

The injury makes Hoggard a doubt for the second Test with Zimbabwe next month and the forthcoming one-day series with Pakistan.

He said: "The position is that the knee is sore. I jarred it. I don't know if anything has gone or not. We'll find out sometime on Thursday.

"It could be the cartilage, it might not be. You don't know how it is going to react. On Thursday I might get up and not feel a thing. I just hope that is the case.

"I tried to carry on initially but I couldn't run it off and this has been a very frustrating year for me so far.

"I had a dodgy winter, bowled reasonably well against Derbyshire, got injured against Northants. I came back from my stomach injury and the first time I went jogging I twisted my ankle.

"Everything is coming in threes and fours for me at the moment in terms of injuries. Things are getting on top of me at the moment.

"I just hope I can get over this knee thing as quickly as possible and get back to playing some cricket."
