Second trial for striker

QPR have moved a step closer to signing Basingstoke Town striker Craig McAllister by inviting him for an extended trial at Loftus Road.

Rangers made a tentative offer for McAllister after he impressed in a reserve match against Portsmouth.

The approach was rejected, but Ian Holloway remains interested in the 22-year-old and McAllister will spend next week at Loftus Road while talks with Basingstoke continue.

But none of the trialists that featured for the reserves at Rushden & Diamonds on Wednesday afternoon are being retained.
