The Greatest Fans The World Has Ever Seen

Its been a long time coming but the sleeping (well Cat Knapping) giant has finally awoke from a 20 year slumber, however it’s a tribute to the hardcore fans which have never lost faith, never lost their voice and more importantly never lost their support of the greatest club in North London.

On the eve of the season kick off at Bolton I wanted to make a quick tribute to you, the fellow Spurs fan, who along with 35k other each week make me fell alive with passion for a club who I hold closer to my heart that the majority of other things in my life.

The fact that we have underachieved for the last 20 years, along time since Gazza and Lineker stole the headlines every week, but the turnstiles still kept turning. Even through the dark ages with Franny and Gross, to a certain extent Hoddle also brought a false dawn onto the club along with a financial strain not since a certain former chairman almost took us to the wall. Yet we still turned up to watch a substandard brand of football that we were not brought up with.

Levy has given us hope, he has given us our pride back but we always had the love for the club which never left. We are bound to get the glory fan who will now start to go home and away to every match and I will hold a personal frustration this season as I wont be able to attended games until after Xmas due to work commitments. I do feel it is now the club needs to make a statement about the ground and the ability to increase the revenue taken from the average punter, which is where the glory fan will come in handy.

I don’t want Levy to build an all fancy ground at the expense of player investment but there needs to be a comprise some point down the line, I think we have gone as far as we can with shirt deals and sponsorship – Mansion was a cracking deal and the Puma shirts will give some larger guys confidence of buying XXL again.

However its down to us, the fan, to create a demand for tickets which will encourage the club to either rebuild WHL or move to a new ground, and use that feel good factor to get new younger fans into the ground as these fans will eventually be the life blood of the mighty Spurs, when we are long gone or old to get the ground the fans to replace us are less then two generations away.


Lets lift the roof off WHL this season and see you all after the Xmas break.
