Spurs to pluck rivals Arsenal for Bowyer?

The Express and Star newspapers are today reporting that Spurs are favorites to land the highly controversial yet highly talented Lee Bowyer, once his contract is up at the end of the season.

Bowyer is reported to have just rejected a 40k per week contract from Risdale possibly the clearest indication that he now wants to leave Leeds.

The reports also claim that Bowyer has said he would only join a capital club, the two main candidates being Spurs and Arsenal. What with Chelsea's shocking financial state they are in no place to enter a wage war.

However with Arsenal having already lots of options in midfield, a deal may not really be suited for them.

Leeds will obviously look to sell Bowyer in January to make some money from his move, however the player may want to wait to pick up a more lucrative sign on fee from any possible suitor.

Leeds are also still said to be interested in Darren Anderton.
