Levy earns a pat on the back as Spurs get Robinson

The official Spurs website is today reporting that Tottenham Hotspur have landed Paul Robinson in a cut-price 1.5 million pound deal.

This must surely been seen as very good business for Spurs and Daniel Levy must deserve some credit for his work in this deal.
Lets hope that this is one of many quality players (along with a quality manager) that arrive at the Lane in the coming months.
Paul Robinson is currently England’s second choice Keeper and should have a great career ahead of him.
He has appeared 13 times for the under-21’s and has made 4 appearances at senior level.

Spurs were also hoping that James Milner would have been part of the Robinson deal, however it appears that the gifted youngster wants to stay and help get Leeds back into the premiership.

Mick McGuire (deputy chief executive of the PFA, and Milner's agent) also praised both clubs in regard to how the Milner situation was dealt with (from the official Leeds website):

"In fairness, the bid was tremendous and the way both clubs have conducted themselves in this matter has been thoroughly professional and at no point did we feel that Leeds were trying to push James out the door.”
Leeds felt it was their duty to keep James fully informed and as a matter of courtesy they allowed us to talk to Tottenham because not only was it an outstanding offer but it would have helped the club's current plight as well.
"However I did not even talk terms with Daniel Levy because James' heart is set on staying at Leeds and that has nothing to do with which club came in for him.
