Spurs to enjoy fine England show.

During the close season we will be treated to yet another great World Cup competition, whist I have always been a fan of the International stage and more importantly European tournaments, the World Cup never fails to spark imagination.
. Ever since seeing footage of Moore lifting the golden trophy under the shadow of the two towers at Wembley, I have been praying to experience the celebrations that followed. Will it happen this time ?!
So what do we have to look forward to well with the inclusion of Michael Dawson into the England squad I can safely say it will be a tournament which Spurs fans will have plenty to crow about, putting to bed a season of progress and a mixed bag of enjoyment. With the England squad bursting with Spurs players such as the mighty Paul Robinson, Carrick, Jenas, Dawson and young Arron Lennon, there is a sense of respect for our glorious club starting to grow with such a strong showing of players from us. I’m not sure when we last had 5 English internationals included in a World Cup squad, something I’ll have to check up on.
Whist all the attention has been on Theo Wallcot for the build up I think that can only be a good thing for Lennon. Lets face it the goons have been all over the back pages the last week or so while their press department goes into overdrive to cover over the poor show in Paris. All the attention and pressure is off Lennon and onto Wallcot, ok I don’t want any English player put under pressure which may effect our chances of winning the special prize, but (!!) it can only improve the development of a player who has not only come a long way this season but could easily become the player of the tournament.
People cope with pressure in funny ways, you only have to look at Henry in Paris to see he is a shrinking violet in the biggest games, how will he cope now he has lost club footballs biggest prize with a display of woe firmly stuck between the garlic bread and onions part of his brain.. This logic can also be applied to Campbell who looks like he will leave Highbury / Burtons if the rumours we heard are true, a player who has been through enough personal problems to keep ‘Dear Deirdre’ columns full for a fortnight will be effected by last weeks events.
Step up Dawson who hasn’t put a foot wrong all season played beyond his years and should be a future club captain and who knows could be captain of country to back fill the current crop, Ferdinand is getting worse as each season goes by and can see he will be played less and less after the departure of our horny Swede.
As for the other Spurs Internationals, I for one wish them well and hope they all come back fit. . .
