League of Wales meeting

Clubs were summoned to the Maesmawr Hotel in Caersws yesterday for an update on the latest developments on several League of Wales issues

- Clubs voted unanimously to turn down an offer from the FAW of £100,000 to the LoW to give the league a certain amount of independence.

- Mark Evans gave a presentation on the new registration periods - or transfer windows - being introduced immediately. Non contract players will be able to transfer as they have always been able to do. Contract players will only be able to transfer during the close season or during January. Dave Simmons of Rhyl reckoned it would infringe on European human rights.

- UEFA Licensing was discussed. Exceptions applied for from the guidelines include a minimum of 500 seats for domestic matches and 1,000 seats for a club to stage a match on its own ground - temporary seats not allowed.

- Boxing Day / Easter Monday fixtures have been revised following complaints from certain clubs. They are now all sensible local derbies - apart from Llanelli v Aberystwyth and Haverfordwest v Carmarthen.

- Clubs were offered the chance to lease electronic substitution boards at £650 per season.
