Druids back on track

Flexys Cefn Druids manager Steve O'Shaughnessy has agreed to return to the Wrexham based club, after quitting because of a dispute over unpaid wages. In a crunch meeting O'Shaughnessy was told how a Fundraising Committee had been set up in order to sort out their financial problems.

During a meeting with Managing Director, Ian Williams on Tuesday evening, Mr Williams announced that the club had set up a Fundraising Committee which included former Wrexham Chairman, Pryce Griffiths, and several other past and present Wrexham directors. O'Shaughnessy was told that their main concern would be to pay the players for their unpaid wages, going back to the start of the year.

O'Shaughnessy's decision to stay will be a big boost to the Ancients, who had been aiming for a top 8 finish in the Welsh Premier this season, despite a slow start.

The club has appealed for supporters to turn out in their hundreds for Saturday's home game with Aberystwyth at Plaskynaston Lane. With local neighbours, Wrexham without a game the club will be praying for such much needed revenue when Saturday comes.
