Daggers star linked with Barry

Out of contract Dagenham and Redbridge striker Junior McDougald, is rumoured to be interested in joining Welsh Premier champions Barry Town.

The Texas-born Conference star has had a 'lucrative' contract offer withdrawn from the London based club.  McDougald's four years with the club have yielded 52 goals in 165 appearances, and it has been rumoured that he was buying a house in Wales and was looking to play for JT Hughes Mitsubishi Welsh Premier champions Barry Town, but he has also made no secret of his desire to return to the Football League.

McDouglad received national fame when he scored in Dagenham's heroic FA Cup ties with Premiership outfit Charlton Athletic. However, Daggers manager Garry Hill has finally lost patience with his 28 year old striker. He told the 'Non-League Newspaper' "Junior was offered a contract in February and again in March and if truth be told, it was a very lucrative deal and one of the best offers that the club has ever made to a player. The offer is gone now...No one player is bigger than the club and I want a squad of people who are Dagenham through and through and will fight with their hearts as part of a team." 

Whether there is any truth in this rumour remains to be seen...
